Battery Monitor

Postby Lgboro » Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:01 am

Just got my solar panel installed on tear roof and installed a TriMetric battery monitor to assist me to know when to conserve battery to keep fan and lights working. Had a little trouble programming the thing but well worth the expense and trouble. I built all led lights and used computer fans verses a Fantastic Fan to use as few amps as possible. Currently have just a 55 AH battery (one of the few corners I cut because one I can fix with minimum mods). My tv is a 12 volt 13.2 inch and only pulls 1.5 amps so with lights, fans and a movie going for 4 hours I was only at 85% so I should be able to get by with the small battery for a while.

One of the things I stress is the need to monitor the battery and the TriMetric is one of the best. We will be doing a more complete job of mioitoring ours solar set up now that I have installed a Vectron monitor.
