IRG What are you doing to improve your rig?

Postby Ron Dickey » Thu Jun 07, 2012 12:56 pm

I am re sealing and restaining the wood, covering the cabinate above, improving the way things ride in it when traveling, putting new handles on the inside doors, may put in new lights in the rear. touch up paint, checking connections etc.

I am using drawer handles for the door pulls inside and have to mount them on a pc of wood getting ready to mount if but then I realized how am I securing the wood to the door. now I am thinking of getting a

like this but not so fancy
also will try and make a portable wood shower matt so when we take a shower in a public place our feet are not where many feet have been. hinged in the center so when closed it could have a handle, and inside have soap and other needed shower stuff.

we usually ware thongs on our feet but it would be nice to feel the wood under our feet.

I have been out twice all ready this season and will have a couple more before IRG, but does my new "tattoo" count?

We have already been out and about with our teardrop and have "thinned" out some more "stuff". We are trying to reduce what we pack to only what we use. The trouble is that we take something out that we haven't used forever and then get somewhere and say "why did we do that?" :?

I have added one or two more decor items and done a thorough cleaning. Having a lot of fun trying to find items for the raffle. Can't wait for the IRG!

Byrdz1 I absolutely love your "tattoo". Look forward to seeing it in the wild. :D

I am strongly considering repainting my 6 ft Stacker, a bright red to match the Chevy Cruze. Always wanted a matching hauler.

I started cleaning the aluminum a while back. I guess I should finish it, or at least finish one side so it's not so obvious.

Randy built wooden shower things before the dam gathering. They also work great to hold DOs off the wet ground. Randy has to get the stabilizer fixed that broke at the Dam. I am hoping to get a new mini flag with the monstro logo that our friend Dave designed for us. Randy's got the license plate holder and light mounted to the tear, but needs to finishes the wiring. This is the prize he won in the raffle.

Good topic Ron...because the IRG will, more than likely, be the largest tear gathering in the country this year. It's a great opportunity to really show off what you've done and how you camp. I enjoy seeing what others have done to solve typical problems that many of us have in tear building, as well as smart solutions to storage, cooking and decor ideas. I've yet to go to a large gathering that I don't come away with an awesome idea that someone cooked up, IE the hot water heater at the Dam Gathering. Doug
