Welcome Ezbie,
You are right, there is a tremendous volume of information, and sometimes the search can give you thousands of answers that don't seem relative. Sometimes you won't get answers from anyone you recognise as an "expert". However after a month I really feel I can do this even if the forum is shut down. (I might :x :fb :O and a few more) I will be able to get it done.

Having searched the archives for hours everyday for the last month, I am building my own doors. The second will get the fancy stuff.

There seems to be a great deal of salvage yard visits around here too.

Ezbie, A lot of the teardrops here on the West Coast use this type of handle on the interior.

And then use something like this on the outside.

Have a good day.

And Slayer, if you can't read a posting complete, then sit back and relax.

EZ , keeping a little sketch/ notebook to draw your various building problems out on paper , will help visualize what you're doing in your head ...sure works for me ...plan as you go sorta' ,and you can look back on what you did ... just in case... crumbs for thought... :D
There’s no place like Foam !
