One suggestion on your battery placement. They need to be seperate from your interior. If they are inside, they really need to be in a sealed box that is vented to the outside. You don't want to expose the interior to battery gases.

Batteries have come a long way in a short period of time. I hope it works for you, sounds like an excellent product. I definitely am interested. Consider me paranoid, but I've seen batteries blow up and all kinds of strange things. Of course they were wet-cell type too. I will be researching the AGM more now. This is one of the main reason I read this forum, I've learned not to only fetch but I can roll over now!

I was going to buy the gel type batteries so I could charge them in the trailer and when I was talking to the guy at battery source that sells all type of batteries and mostly golf cart batteries he said that 2 golf cart batteries provided more amp hours than the gel type that they sell.
he also said that I could charge them in the trailer as long as the trailer was open and his words were as long as I wasn't hanging around in the closed trailer or sleeping in there while they were chargeing it would be fine.
I charge mine during the week before the weekend.

I went AGM as I already had one, so a second to match was 'easier'

200mm computer fans - pull .33amps @ 12v = 4 watts of power all out and push 150 CFM

quite quiet as well!

Sad tho when for $99 you can get a 5000 BTU air conditioner... But that pulls 400 watts...

what a week! finally had a couple hours tonight to get started

Day 5 - finished layout electrical in my mind & on paper & picked up last couple parts for that

Installed a temporary LED setup in the upper middle of the trailer as I'm not sure how bright they're going to be
16' total, double backed on itself to make 2 x 8' strips




Then finally decided how I want the electrical to be:

I'll run all electrical to the fuse box & have the 2 batteries, battery charger and inverter in it's own box.

Then have short cables to plug that box into the fuse panel when I go! No winter stuff to worry about...

It's gonna be a heavy box though as the batteries are ~80lbs each!



Went with some 5/8" plywood I had left over & a large number of brackets. all wood is glued together. That's the bottom you're looking at

One of the batteries is, um, helping that corner to stay put until the glue dries

I'll cut holes for handles & ventilation on the short sides




update as it's dark out finally!



Perfect amount of light I think - and they are on a dimmer, as will all the rest of the lights

OK, just completed a 3 week, 8100 kilometre trek and am super happy with how the trailer has come along

there is also a LOT to be said for sleeping in the same bed everynight!

yeah, that's with the LED's lit in the back at night

It's 16' of the Oznium Waterproof LED's, in a neutral white. I really can't see anyoen needing anything more! They're usually dimmed by half at least for us

I'd probably go warm white if it were to do it again. with all the aluminum they appear slightly more blue than I'd like. Only slightly.

That may change when it gets sheeted though

Day 6 - refit mattress frame to be lift-able

I had fixed the mattress hard in place with the unistrut for the last camping trip as I only had so much time

But now it's liftable! Lift the back door side 1/2 way up and secure. Then fully lift and lock the inside. Then finish the back door side the other 1/2.

When up, only covers about 2" of the windows leaving it cozy but super bright inside

That right there is why I bought this trailer - so it's pretty nice to see it finally starting to shape up!
