There isn't going to be one next year. It only happens every other year, so therefor the next one will be in 2014.

For those of us who have been on the forum for a time There are 2 events on IRG and the other in Neb. the go opposite years from each other. Neb is is more in the center of the US so those in the eastern states have a chance to come. I am sure the hosts of the IRG would love to have all of you but the county will only let some many stay there. This is number 4 And the problem is it is a little like the gold rush..... They stand in line at New Years and when the doors open they try and get Poplin grove in July. Last time it was open for several months but this time it was full by Jan.

There are lots of gatherings to go to. In our first gathering we slept in a tent with many of the northern California gang. The next one I have to put doors my trailer so I could sleep with out a raccoon on my tommy. The IRG is not a secret it is a lot of planning a fun place to be with good folks. Hope to see you in 2 years.

Actually not only are there many posts and threads related to irg there is a whole website. Go to the top of this forum And click on td friendly websites. Choose Pamplin grove. This where it is held. It is in the redwoods of northern California. Fortuna to be exact. I would also suggest you search with the term "irg". You will find much to discover there. Where are you located? Perhaps we could suggest other gatherings since irg is sold out this year

I was noticing that myself. I didn't know the answer or I would have responded.
Just saw that IRG stands for International Redwood Gathering...guess that info would have helped also. I have seen IRG mentioned on this forum many times but no one ever seems to mention what it is or what it means.

I can see why it's popular. I would love to camp in the redwoods!

I just thought of why IRG is the best kep secret. It is very hard to find. Here is a picture of the entrance to the campground.



If you were not looking for it you would easily drive by it without even know it is there.

Found a Gathering listed on the Tin Can Tourist site that on that weekend in Michigan in a town we had planned to be in or near that exact day. Perfect!!!
We are in the process of tying to pre register and get accaepted into their group.
Hope the entrance to their State Park is more clearly marked than the one in California.
We know there is a recession down there, but signs can't be that expensive.
Maybe it could be a "camp project" for those of you that did manage to get in???
Just Kidding!
