newbie from SE Tn

Been lurking here, getting ideas and slobbering over the pix in HOF.I have a teardrop in my eye 'cause I don't have a teardrop to pull around.I'm presently deconstructing an old popup camper and I may use the frame to build a mockup.I've been a woodworker for years and I built cabinets,a folding sofa bed,a table, consoles etc. for a Ford van years ago so building a teardrop shouldn't be an insurmountable problem, except I've found so many ideas that the trailer would have to be pretty big to incorporate them all.Good reason to build a mockup I guess.Very enjoyable forum..

Hey oth47,
At least you found this sight before you started your build. Unlike me. I didn't come accross this sight until after the build was well in progress. So needless to say, there things I would have and should have done differently with my TD build. Sure sounds like you all the skills to make your dream a sucessful build.

See you down the road. Jim

Welcome to the forum.
I would strongly recommend you come to a TearJerker gathering, under TD Friendly websites above. You will see a range of teardrops and a great deal of creativity.

Found a teardrop I could trade for..4x8,homemade,2 doors,2 windows, couple of battery operated lights, small electric fan, power strip installed for plugging in a drop cord.Door latch needed repair, got it fixed.Hatch latch was upside down, don't know why,got it fixed.Front board is bowed out a little, needs attention.I'm debating the merits of angle iron or oak 2x2 to bolt the front board to the floor and pull it back where it's supposed to be.Built on a TSC trailer, tires look new. It'll be on the road any day now.. :D
