First kero lantern and heater

Postby Loader » Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:38 pm

Picked up a 237A kero lantern, my first kero. Also my wife found a heater as well as a nice 200A for me.

Nice finds Earl! A 237 is high on my want list, they are the king of single mantle lanterns. Nothing like 500 CP to shed some light on things. The 200A looks good too, what's the vintage on it?

Shaun,

The 200A is a June 1954 (6/54) model, looks to be all but ready to light up. However, I always give the lanterns a good once over before I bring a flame near them.

On the 237, I've mostly seen the silver fount, not too many painted founts seem to show up, not sure when the change over occured, perhaps a little research on the Terry Marsh site is required. Price was right and it was local, couldn't pass it up.
