Ace Rust Stop Paint

Has anyone used the Ace Rust Stop brand paint on their tear? I was planning to use Interlux paint, but as the cost of my build is getting astronomical and I want to use a couple of different colors, at $45 a quart + primer I'm thinking not.

I have been reading threads this morning by guys who swear by this stuff and even use it to paint their car restorations. (I found this mostly on the off-roading sites where guys don't want to invest a ton of money in paint jobs that they are going to take out and beat the crap out of.) But, the point being that I looked at lots of pics and they looked pretty darn good.

Supposedly it's about the same as Rustoleum, with one major difference, Rustoleum cannot be custom mixed. Ace will apparently color match and mix any color you want with the Rust Stop. At least that's what they say. I haven't called my local Ace to confirm that yet.

So I'm just wondering if anyone on the forum has used this paint, what method you used to apply it (I want to roll it on) and what you think of it.

Just called my local Ace Hardware. Negative on the custom matching. Colors are now off the shelf only. Bummer

Becky..I would stick with Interlux. There is much more pigment in their paint.The coverage and protection is worth the extra $. Plus, as you already know, this paint is self leveling and a brushed finish looks like sprayed on. Also be very careful what you apply over epoxy, not all paints/varnishes work nice with epoxy.
I recently helped a friend paint an old red 18' fiberglass canoe. We painted it 3 coats with "Brightsides" white color over red without a primer. It came out beautiful. Everybody thinks it was spray painted by a pro even though it was painted with foam brushes! The whole job took 3/4 qt.
I don't know which Interlux paint you are looking at for $45 qt, but Brightsides is about $30 qt. and with the coverage you get per qt., it rivals most cheaper paints in actual $ value.
