Can this be adapted to teardrops and camping???? Very interesting concept -- simple, cheap, green......

It would certainly work, but the big issue would be the same as it is in a house...sealing it so it doesn't leak. I don't know for sure how you would get a dependable seal in a camper, but I'm sure it could be done.

That's Cool but I am not in my tear during the day.

This is a new spin on an old idea (deck prism website) ... seems to work well for them. It wouldn't work where temps go below freezing.

Thanks Corwin, I was trying to remember what they are called. "deck lights" or "deck prisms"

Thanks, Corwin--I love knowledge, and that's a great piece of knowledge about the Deck Prisms.

Yes, the bottles would be great in a drier climate than here (although it's been over 6 weeks since we had any measurable rain  ). I can see the solar bottle idea growing in many Third World countries.

If the Billionaires get what they want , we’ll ALL be a 3rd world country ... :frightened:

I got a real glass deck prism a while back .... never knew where to put it .... till now ...

Several years ago we saw a fiber optic light with a collector on the roof , with a small cable going through the soffett , terminating inside into what was a starry chandelier ... very Cool looking and put out a Lot of light ... and no holes in the roof ... a little more High tech than a soda bottle , but may be NICE for a trailer ... a small one ...
