Hiding exposed wiring...

Postby bigblockbarry » Sat Jun 23, 2012 3:22 pm

The back side of the panel I mounted my radio and speakers in shows when the hatch is open. I really don't want to build a panel to block off everything from sight. Anybody have a quick tip for hiding these? I bought some double sided tape and was going to "stick" them to the under side of my cabinet but thought I would get another opinion first.I'll run out a shoot a picture of it.

You have me a little confused. You don't want to make a panel to cover up your wires but you want them to disappear.
If it were me I'd attach sufficient blocking to the area and pe-drill & screw a 1/4" panel on with washer head screws.
Then you have access to the wires when needed. :D Danny

I have had that in the back of my mind.I have enough aluminum to bend up a cover panel so maybe I'll do that. I didn't want the wires to be hidden completely, just cleaned up some from what it is now.

Okay...

Wire loom will cover them, but allow people to still see "wiring".

If you're really proud of your wiring job, a clear plexiglass panel will show it off and keep food, etc away from them.

zIp Ties are your friend, Use some!. Even better get some with the srew hole in the end and not only strap but fasten them to the wall to get them up off the floor.

Also that looks like the back of a 110v outlet on the right.. You really should have that in a box with a back. I also would suggest using standard wire colors for any 110v. black+ white neutral, green or bare copper ground..
