We missed our May Long weekend completion date also. But we set a new one and are making progress again. Your build looks great. Keep up the good work. Good Roads Brian & Sandi
Looking good, Steve. It's coming along very well. Jim B / Utah

Thanks for the complements. They help keep us motivated.
We've been working on the cabinets and not surprisingly it's been going a little slower than expected. I've been told that I (Steve) need to stop being so picky. Ok I'm working on that and trying to convince myself that the little flaws will add character and charm. I guess we'll see how that goes.
After a few hiccups, the front and upper rear cabinets are framed, varnished and have had the hardware test fitted. Hoping to get them installed tomorrow.

Your teardrop is looking great. I know getting that body on the frame was a huge moment. That was the moment I could finally start to believe that it was going to be finished someday. It became a trailer and not just a pile of parts.
I can relate to your comment about being less picky. I too am a perfectionist, but I am learning to let go of that and accept that it is not, and will never be, perfect. Not going to lose any more sleep over it. Will the fact that it's not perfect make it any less fun? I don't think so!! And as everyone keeps telling me, the only person that will notice most of those flaws will be me. And even I will stop noticing them after awhile, I'm sure.
Build it, enjoy it, and forget about any perceived imperfections. From where I'm sitting, it looks TERRIFIC!!

Nice cabinets. I'm guessing maple face frames with no stain; Gun Stock red stain over maple, pine, or poplar door frames, and same stain over luan, okoume, sepiel, etc panels?
Looks great. Between yours and Plan-B I'am thinking I might just do my whole interior in the Gun Stock, but leave the face frames and inner door seal frames in the clear white maple for that nice contrast.
The cabinet & door frames are 1" x 2" Radiata Select Pine. The door frames are stained with Red Chestnut then varnished. The centers of the doors are 1/8" luan ply. The cabinet frames & door centers are varnished without stain. We are working on a budget, so going with some of the lower cost alternatives. We have been very surprised by how nice some of them look after a little stain or varnish.
It looks like you changed your original plan by making the cabinet on the inside come all the way to the door frame. I like that and might use that in my Benroy. Cabinets look great. How exciting!!!
We were a little worried about interior space and banging into a cabinet closer to the door. After we got the sides up and started looking at it we decided it wasn't going to be a problem so we added a 12" x 12" x 58" cabinet. That one will be pretty much clothes and such. It should be real handy.
Nice looking cabinets. Don't worry about not getting done in the time frame you first envisioned. I missed my deadline by about a year. When you get to use it, you won't care that it took a little longer. Keep at it and it will get done.
Yipee !!! The cabinets are done. The inside cabinet is completely installed. We are waiting on the varnish to dry on the top and bottom of the cabinet to dry.
Inside.
P.S. I'll add pics of the rear cabinet as soon as I can.
