Diamond Plate Adhesive

I am putting diamond plate on the front of my trailer. It will be covering the one vulnerable plywood edge I haven't been able to seal completely and that is the bottom edge of my 1/8" birch roofing. The reason I can't seal it completely is due to a number of factors, but that is neither here nor there. Because it is vulnerable I want to make sure water cannot get trapped behind the diamond plate so I need something that I feel confident will not leak to adhere it to the trailer.

I saw a product online called Eternabond, its a roofing sealer and comes in a double-stick version, but according to the literature has many other uses. Has anyone used it? If not, what method did you use to apply your diamond plate? Totally leakproof?

Check out the 3m 4200 or 5200 adhesive/sealant. It's waterproof marine grade stuff. I used the 4200 on my build and I have no complaints. Others have used it too and liked it.

Thanks Larry. I've been using the 3M 5200 on boats for years and I know well what great stuff it is. I had hoped to find something not quite as messy that didn't require clamping down and requiring minimal or no screw installation. Supposedly the Eternabond fit all that criteria, but I was hoping someone with real experience with it, or something similar would chime in. 5200 will be my next choice.

RTV (silicone rubber) ....... Bonds anything to almost anything and and is weather proof, clean up with denatured alcohol... And can form nice lines if used with masking tape...

It's not the easiest stuff to get but I use 3m30nf fast bond water based contact cement to bond my diamond plate to luan and it's neoprene based and waterproof and easy to apply and clean up with water. Look on my website at the different campers I've built using it and my current build thread of a pickup model I'm building.
