Okanagan build - my first Teardrop

Hi

I used the 1195, it was on sale at the time and felt it was more than enough. I hope to be be around 8 or 9 hundred pounds total weight for the teardrop. I am going to try getting it weighed soon. Ours is only 4ft wide and just over 10ft long, I would think your build might be heavier with the extra width. The extra robustness couldn't hurt and may be a stiffer frame for your build. I find that due to the overhang over the tongue from our profile that there is little room for a tongue box. We are going on our maiden voyage this weekend so I will see after that if we need to extend the tongue. It would make backing up easier.

Where are you going camping for your maiden voyage.

Our maiden voyage is open and flexible as the weather of late has been less than favorable. Plan "A" is to go through Merritt, up to Pemberton, Whistler and the Sunshine coast. Plan "B" would be to head towards Yellowstone. I'll be keeping an eye on the weather forecast before deciding.

Still need to pick up the window trim from Sumerland tomorrow.

Well we are back from our first trip with the new teardrop. We were gone for two weeks and racked up over 3000 Km. it sure was a great way to travel, so convienient to set up at the campgrounds. Having a real kitchen to cook in made a big difference, it was so easy to park at a viewpoint and flip up the hatch, we had grilled cheese sandwiches in no time. We camped mostly in the mountains and were never cold at night.

In short... We loved it. We had lots of comments on the trailer, especially from other small car owners.

Yes, that is a Labradoodle and not a bear. We did see two bears on this trip, one black and one Grizzly.
