I'm new to the forum and hope to tackle my own conversion soon. When I saw this on Groupon I thought I would share as my first post.

In a Nutshell

Portable, eco-friendly washer uses less than 5 gallons of water and no electricity; works well for apartments, dorms, and campsites.

Promise this isn't SPAM. I just thought it was neat and could be used by members of this forum!

BTW, I can't freakign decide what size trailer I'm going to get! Tell me this is the toughest part!

Welcome to the forum!

Now that is a great first post. That is a very nice unit to address something we have struggled with on our trips, dirty clothes and how to wash them, we didn't. Again, thank you for the link. I do believe we'll try the Laundry Pod washer out in the future, the price is certainly right if it works as stated.

CT size wise depends on what you want to do and what kind of a tow vehicle you have to haul it with. From my experience there is nothing worse than being undersized on the tow vehicle i.e., too large a trailer. That makes for unpleasant hauling and is hard on the nerves.

For an even cheaper solution, use a 5-gallon bucket and a toilet plunger (like an old butter churn).

I have a 3/4 ton truck and a company paid gas card so I'm lucky not to have to worry about the gas or size part. I'm not going to worry about being light, the whole reason I'm doing this is

a: I don't like RV's. They're made with cheap, light material. I want solid.
b: I want to be able to hook-up in 3 minutes and go, and I don't want it to be a total pain to drive/park. I'll use it if it's simple.

This is why it's so difficult for me! My two reasons don't go together

Two buckets are indicated , perhaps a different color for positive ID...

No way Christi or myself are going to be seen with a toilet plunger and an orange five gallon bucket. We'll go with the laundry pod. We have a certain dignity to maintain, even if we're no more than CT trailer trash. Spinning a green thing by hand is cool, pumping an orange five gallon bucket with a toilet plunger ain't. Silly sarcasm mode off.

Yes, did that when I was in the Army and at university, and never want to do it again. That's what washing machines are for.

Welllllll......you could also use a silver one from Lowe's, a white or blue one from Wal-mart, a white one from Tractor Supply......and if anyone asks just say you're making ice cream, wanna try??

I'm just enough of an instigater to use the plunger in full view of who ever wants to survey the activity in my campsite. Just to see what kind of reaction I would get. I love to jack with peoples mind just because I can. I'm already laughing at the nosey bluehair taking their walking mop for a stroll and the look on her face when she sees the plunger in action with the 5 gal bucket.

Just FYI, I've been looking for alternative washing methods for small loads at home and came across the pod. It gets dismal reviews on amazon. I ended up settling on the aforementioned "plunger" and bucket method paired up with home made laundry detergent.

One of the few luxuries I afford myself sometimes is dropping off laundry at Fluff & Fold laundromat.

Costs a bit but while clothes are being washed I'm livin large
