Does it make a difference in using the spreadsheet if your TD body overhangs the trailer? Specifically, on our latest (still not finalized) design the rear of the TD is 4" off the back of the trailer.


Sorry sketch is a little light, but the trailer ends right underneath the back edge of the galley counter.

Should measurement "A" go to the end of the TD, or only to the end of the frame? Should the extra weights from the rear go from the TD rear or from the end of the trailer.

Sorry if this seems like a silly question as the drawing in the spreadsheet is very clear, but it does seem to make a big difference if the calculations are based on the end of the TD or the end of the frame.

We are going to recess the wheels so there won't be any moving of the axle after the build is complete. As a back up mesure, in case the axle is a bit off, we are planning on putting in a PVC water tank (thanks for the great idea Madjack!!). We won't install it until the end of the build and will put it wherever the weight is most needed.

Dimension A should go to the end of the body (TD rear as you say!)

What is important is that you use the same measurement point for all the dimensions (A, B, C, D1, D2, etc). It isn't desperately important which you use, as long as it's the same for all. I would use the rear of the body in your case.
