Check out Lowe's--they have quite a selection of LED battery operated lights. I picked up some Sylvania LED lights on Friday. AAA battery powered.

(No, no pics. I didn't get them installed. This weather is crazy :? )

Well I just bought the expensive LED lights ($10.00 each)for my Galley and the two cabin lights. Retro fit them to my 1950 Studebaker housings and was more than excited until I saw how little light they gacve off in comparison to the 1156 they replaced ($0.49 each)????
As my battery is large and will be charged all day by the TV and if we are a a campsite with power we will be pluged in allowing the converter to do its job.
I am about to rethink this LED obsession????????????

I hard wired and built my own led fixtures for my lighting. I built in leds and computer fans instead of a fantastic fan or equivalent. I have a relatively small deep cycle AGM (55 ah) battery and have a 80 watt solar panel as well as several ways to recharge my battery. The fans and lights with tv or radio running for hours will only use less than 20% a day cycle so the extra effort wiring is worth the time and cost to me. Even that small of a battery should give me several days of lights and fans even in winter when solar gain is reduced.

Disposable batteries are a PITA (as is ice, IMHO). These lights are cool though. It would be very easy to use a three terminal voltage regulator or a dropping resister so you could hardwire these lights in place so you never had to deal with disposable batteries.

See: http://www.instructables.com/id/Voltage-Regulator/

You can buy 10 regulators for less than six bucks:

I got a two pack of led under counter lights at costco for $20 bucks. They work either by motion sencor or off on switch.
