Glad to hear that the fender issue is going to resolve itself.
For a second there I was going to recommend Cragar SS's and some air shocks so you could get that 70's muscle car vibe going... you know, with the raised white letter tires sticking out 2-3 inches.
I have seen some metal fenders that stand off with an open gap from the trailer a good 1" or so and are only attached at the bottom to the trailer frame. I was told that is in case the fender hits something and is pushed in, it doesn't push into the side of the trailer.
