I use a small stainless brush on mine no matter how bad they are rusted. If it's really rusted....soak it in some citric acid, you can pick it up in the canning area of the grocery store, then wire brush it. Use a flat mill file to clean up the top surface of the filler neck, but make sure you file it flat. I could be wrong, but I'd bet you will have a tough time with a die on those threads with the tank clearance and the price of a die isn't worth it. Founts are available easily, just pick up another if it's totalled. Doug
