Starting the build on new 7 x 14 v-nose tomorrow

Postby dudleydoright » Sun Jul 15, 2012 7:18 pm

Hi all,

I'm finally starting the new build tomorrow. Going to paint the interior a light honey tan. Going to do the floor and all the doors in maple. Will have a queen bed (for the queen), small dinette, bathroom with porta-potty, mini fridge, water heater, kitchen sink, microwave, 12,000 btu portable a/c with 2 hoses and many cabinets. I towed this back from Douglas,GA and it pulled like a dream. Once I make some progress I'll try to post some pictures.

Mike,

Fantastic that you got your CT home. We look forward to your build. Post lots of pics so we can steal... OOPS! I mean admire your ingenuity. It sure sounds like you know where you want to go with your conversion, which is a lot more than I can say about ours i.e., stumbling our way through. Just by your initial description your build sound gorgeous. Please keep us posted.

I agree! It's good to hear that you have the CT home, and that we'll see another CT conversion on this site!

Hi Pete,

Have not taken any pictures yet. Got the bathroom framed in and the queen bed frame built. I'm now trying to decide if it would be better to build a dinette set or a drop down table with chairs. Which do you think would be better?

thanks,

Mike

I am working on my 7x16 as the heat permits. My plan is to install drop down table. Put it up when I need it, when I don't it'll be down. This will allow for extra room as needed. We will be eating outside the majority of the time as weather permits. But that is my plan anyway. Build it to fit your needs, I want to be able to free up space when I want too. Good luck and looking for pictures. You may have design ideas I would like to borrow.
good luck

Dadgum it! I cut that board 5 times and it's still too short!

Decided to go with a drop down table made from all that 3/4" maple flooring I have. Table is built and now all I have to do is mount it. It will give us so much more room than a dinette (we won't have to sit in one position) , especially in the evening when we want to watch TV. I too spend most of my time outside when camping, but this will give us a nice refuge when to weather is bad.
