5AM Friday Morning

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

5AM Friday Morning

Postby Ira » Fri Mar 24, 2006 5:11 am

Why the heck am I sitting on the computer at 5am in the morning, showered and all ready to go to work...when I don't usually leave the house until 6:30?

Stupidest thing I ever did:

I set the alarm incorrrectdly, and when I noticed it was DARK outside, I thought, "What the heck is going on?"

It's 5AM.

Is Harbor Freight open yet so I can kill some time?
Here we go again!

Two nights ago the radio alarm went off and I got up and started going downstairs when I stopped and thought "hmmm; something's funny here". Normally I get up about 5:30 so it's still dark but this was kinda weird.

Turns out the electricity had gone out in my neighborhood for a couple of hours and when it came back on, it triggered the alarm. Had to turn on the computer and check to see that it was really 2:30 am.

I reset everything and went back to bed but my little dog was highly upset because she gets to eat in the morning. She must have felt her lazy owner was trying to starve her.

It's almost 9AM, I made it the office, and I'm falling asleep at my desk.

Wow Ira, 5AM? You slept in lol. I've been off of work for 7 weeks now, my alarm is set for 5 and i haven't heard it yet. Now that I think about it, I haven't heard it in several years I think. I wonder if it even works. I think my dad cursed me with his early up itiss. I usually wake up between 3 and 4 am. Since i've been off, its been stretching to 4:30 or so lol .....NUB....

Would that I were so lucky. I wish I could just manage to wake up when the alarm buzzes. :-(

I should have been up at 5AM however... I was having a very intense dream about back surgery. When my wife shook me to tell me she was leaving for work and I needed to get up I remember thinking to myself "what the hell is she saying? She knows I've just had surgery!" When she left I promptly fll back asleep. Woke up at 7:45 - supposed to be at work at 8AM. Any guesses who was late? Any bets on whether my boss bought my "I had surgery last night" story?

I hope this is just a "Winter" thing and not a perminant thing like becoming burnout from working long hours for too many years, but... I am not an early riser as of late.
I have a hard time remembering things that happen early in the morning when first awake... Kinda like walking around half in a comma.
I'm usually an early riser or at least I was...
I'm working late again tonight and I'm going to have to get up early in the morning 'cause I have a job tomorrow that once I start tearing out the original windows and entryway, I gotta stay until the new storefronts are in and the business is secure. Everything needs to be back in order, so the business can resume first thing Monday morning.
I think I'll try an alarm clock, see if that works. :?
I'd like to enjoy those quiet mornings again, watching the sunrise instead of looking at the back of my eyelids... No, my diet is not lacking in iron.
I've been a little bit stressed about this job all week, cause two of the old windows that also need to come out, weigh 350 lbs each. Tried to find someone to assist with that, but came up goose eggs. They are setting about 4' off the ground. At least I'm just going down with them and not up.
Thanks for letting me whine.
Oh... I very seldom have dreams anymore, what the heck is up with that???
