It's how we handle 104 degree heat and 50% humidity, Slow. :?

Wish I was in Wyoming right now. This is just miserable.

Just a note about going out west. Yes it is hot. No you don't need ac here. As a resident of the west, as is Doug hodder, ac is not necessary for two reasons. It gets really hot, today is is 101' but almost always cools down to the 60s, some times 70s every night ( I am in Nevada). Reason number two, limited electrical. Unless you camp in a koa or the like every night, most state and national parks do not have electric, unlike the east. You will need to have the generator. I have yet to see a west built tear with ac. Just saying don't put in ac because you will need it in the west. Think more about whether you need it where you camp the most.

We plan on taking ours back east sometimes, but would rather spend a couple of uncomfortable nights than lose the space. My fan and windows do the trick with less noise pollution from a gen set.

You just start the generator and use a really short cord. What else would you keep in the tongue box? 8)

No we did not need our AC in the west, yes we do need it here with 90+ degree and high humidity through the night, and SC note there is an 120AC outlet in front of CR for the AC. That was one of the things I had in the design for Compass Rose. As with Bob there is enough stuff happening on that side of the trailer when you are in a camp ground with hookups, power 30A, waterline, and sewer line that you don't do much walking on that side. It can be kept fairly neat and the sewer hose is bright red (and one you can step on and not not crush), That is by the way my side of the bed ;).

I got rid of that key when I realized that every single RV baggage door key is a CH751. I'll just borrow the guys keys in the next camping space if I loose mine.

Where we are in Kentucky, the heat index has been hitting 110-120 due to the humidity. AC is almost a requirement when it is still mid-90s at 10 at night. I have spent far too many nights dripping in a hammock or cot to do it for fun. I am using the Shadow Catcher method to cool my cargo trailer. If the weather does not require it, I can either leave the unit at home or in the back of the truck.

We are out west, on the coast, where Fog is our A/C, so we don't have it in our teardrop. However, we picked up our teardrop during the crazy heatwave in the midwest, and while camping in Missouri it hit 112 during the day with humidity. This west coast gal would have appreciated A/C in that moment. The fantastic fan did help, a lot, but I can see how A/C would be a nice-to-have feature if I were camping in heat like that all the time.

For this trip, I just kept telling myself that this was not going to be the usual camping condition. Luckily when we hit the northern desert of Arizona and Joshua Tree in California, they were having cooler than usual days (mid 80's) and I found that I was very comfortable with just a Fantastic Fan and windows cracked open.

I guess what I'm saying is, out West I'd go without A/C (unless you're going to camp in the desert, primarily) and Midwest/East Coast, I'd definitely consider adding at least a portable A/C unit for those times you need it.

:)

Even though I enjoy traveling to Colorado Springs, the arrid envirnoment is a double edge sword. Nice to be out of the humidity, but my body doesn't like the dryness. Even after a week, I can't drink enough to satisfy the thirst! Dry air nosebleeds are not enjoyable. Walking up a flight of stairs can be a disaster when the body is used to 9,000 feet. Thought I was dying last Thanksgiving, then takes days to recover. Altitude sickness is nasty. I will never climb Mount Everst!

Drive home I am so thankful when cross into humidity and "down to earth" where I am used to functioning and have my head back.

Each area of the country has it's pro's and con's. Living in the midwest, South, and East requires AC.

I am glad I live out west. I do not have AC in anything. TD house or vehicles. I have yet to have trouble at night when camping and that includes a week of camping in summer on a dry lake bed. If I am able to ever go back east will have to pick the right time for me. I did spend a week in New Jersey about 40 years ago. Yeah, was not pretty.
