Asianflava, picture this - you are standing in a high mountain stream. You have chosen some fly that resembles some aquatic insect (mayfly, cadus fly, batus fly or some other) and you are ready to cast. Casting a fly is different, as the fly has no weight, so you have to use the weight of the fly line. basically it is using a lever (fly rod) to transfer momentum to the line. The fly shoots out over the water and the fly lands and floats down the river with the current hopefully to some spot where a fish is holding in the water for food to come along. in an instant, a flash of light has shot up from some, here to for, unseen spot and a fish grabs your fly and starts back down. You lift your rod to set the hook, and tHe fight is on. If nothing goes wrong, you land tHe fish and either release him or slip him in your creel for a good meal later. As the excitement od the moment starts to pass, you realize that this is all so difficult, and takes all of your concentration, with so many things that can go wrong that your world has been reduced to a 20' to 30' radius of where you are standing in a beautiful setting, and the rest of the world has gone away. And I mean all of it. No thought of work, the family, bills, To Do lists, or any number of modern days lifes issues that are always there when you are not fishin. That, to me, is "it".
Now to building my teardrop. I should start by the end of the week. I got the hitch installed on my Jeep today, i will pick up my initial supplies tomorrow, and Iron Forge Trailers is to deliver my trailer frame on Thursday. I will start a new thread on the build and keep you all posted.
