A Quick Chainsaw Cut TIKI for the garden.

Postby grizz » Sat Aug 04, 2012 11:22 am

I will do a separate thread for the garden bed I did this afternoon in the eternal search for "Brownie Points"

I got hold of 8 free railway sleepers, delivered to my back yard by a guy in a suit and tie in a bright orange overall and another guy in an overall ;D ;D ;D Thanks to the Phantom suited delivery man.

Anyway, I wanted to build another garden bed next to the ericacious bed I had created for Nicola last year (Brownie Points only last so long you know) which would also make my grass cutting simpler with one less set of nooks and crannies to deal with..... I do like straight lines.

Once the timbers for the bed were cut and fixed into place I had a piece of sleeper left over with two holes in that just screamed at me to grab the chainsaw and make it into a TIKI.

I previously made one out of a building block while waiting for woodglue to dry in winter.

Started with a load of bits and used the last piece of leftover log.

Drew a basic TIKI on the sleeper.

Started cutting the lines and then recessing the bits I wanted deeper on the "face" with the chainsaw.

THIS IS NOT CLEVER AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE WITHOUT APPROPRIATE SAFETY EQUIPMENT !!!!

Job done with the Chainsaw.

All limbs thankfully intact.

Not its final resting place, but you get the picture ?

Hope you like.

Nicola likes it, so points starting to stack up again.....

Hoping to get it all done in time.

That's pretty cool Rian. Brownie points are always good to get, but I must not let my wife see this thread lest she get ideas...

Self-Portrait ? ? ?

[Sorry Rian, - I couldn't resist the visual straight-line!]

You're going to have "one of everything" in that garden
before you're done. Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
