Electrical wiring

Hello everyone. I am sorry for my lack of knowledge of electrical systems. I do understand 12 volt sytems. But when it comes to some real juice i got no clue. I am searching the forum posts for a more specific answer i guess. So if i walk into my local LOWES store and walk to the electricl section, and dont know what i am specifically looking for. So i go find someone to help me find what i am looking for. Exactly what is it that i am asking for. I tell them what i am building but they look at me like i am some kind of loony person. I then try to explain to them what i want and what i am building.. I know i need wire. Ok but what kind,brand,length, size. Do i need 10-20-30-40-50 feet of wire? If so do i need so many at a certain length. ? I do know someone out there has an answer for me. Maybe i am just just looking in the right section of the forum for my answer. Maybe this summertime heat has affected my brain and thinking.

Well we need some info too. What are you planning to use in your trailer, lights outlets, stereos tv trailer lights what does your trailer look like now.
For DC i like to use 14 to 16 gage stranded wire.
For AC i like stranded as well but so easy just to put in normal 14-2 gage wire witha ground.
Never mix up the grounds for the AC and DC.
Dont ofr get fuses or that i cant type.

Hello Forest747: I aploigize for not providing enough info in my quest for info. I have a harbor freight 4x8 trailer. I originally bought the TY-DEANCUSTOM CAMPERS plan. I do have pics of the camper, but due to my lack of computer knowledge i do not know or understand exactly how to post pics and more importantly make them small enough to fit on this forum. You can look up ty-dean custom campers and get a general idea of what my camper will look like. Since i am not now nor have i ever been a woodworker, my camper to say the least is close to what his looks like. Moving on. I am trying to prewire the camper for general electrical lights and wall plugs. For lights to read, charging cell phones. A TV would be nice but necessary I can use a portable DVD player to watch a movie. I will use a car radio for music. No a/c on this camper. I will use a 12volt vent fan in the ceiling. I will use a camp stove to cook with and make coffee. I do have a portable generator that my brother gave to me i can use for remote electricity. It looks like it has 4 standard home type plugs on it. I would like if the situation arises that if i need to use electric at a regular campsite i can just plug into the power source and have juice. I hope this help in answering my question posted above.
