That episode alone could have been a season finale with all the things left hanging at the end.

I can't believe this show has me hooked again.

UGH!

Nice touch at the end of that episode with Johnny Cash in the background. Always liked that song, too.

Anyway, season finale tonight!

Not quite sure how I felt about the finale. There were more actual cliff hangers the week before. And I wasn't shocked by the big reveal. Had been speculation about that early on. It did give you reason to start watching when it starts back up in January, though. Which is the ultimate goal.

So, more episodes next season (15) and we don't have to wait the whole year to see it. If ratings continue to be good it will be interesting to see if they continue with that sort of schedule.

From what I understand, they start filming next month. Wanted to start filming last month but Hagman supposedly reminded them that it's 100+ degrees in Texas in July.

that big reveal wasn't really that big. it made sense since the beginning since cliff has a daughter named rebecca. so that part did not shock me as much as them scheming together. now that part thru me.
i fell asleep for a few minutes, so did christopher find out that rebecca is cliff's daughter?
i am still not really liking christopher, he just seems too whimpy and unloyal to me. i would trust john ross before i ever trusted christopher.

can't wait for january! if i can't have my jack bauer hour then dallas will have to do. :wine:

No, he didn't find out.

As for "Rebecca," that's the only thing that really puzzles me about this.

It has been apparent from the start of this new show that Cidre was NOT going to recognize the TV movie conclusion to the original series.

That movie, though, is where we find out that Barnes actually has a daughter to Afton Cooper. Only, her name isn't Rebecca, it's Pamela. But, she was already a teenager by the time we meet her and there's no way that Christopher wouldn't have known who she was.

So, we'll have to wait and see just who her mother is, assuming we ever find out. Not sure who they would pick that Cliff had a relationship with from the original series that would fit. I guess there are a few, though.

I know what you mean about Christopher, though. Half the time you just WANT to see him get screwed.

Ann finally seemed like a Ewing wife, though.

They should give Barbara Eden a call and see if she would like the role of Rebecca's mom. Be great to see Major Nelson and Jeanie plotting against each other in their senior years. 8)

oh yes, ann was so "ewing" last night. i did enjoy that one.
sue ellen, well i never really liked her from day one, still don't enjoy her much. with all the crap that she went thru and things that happened to her, there is no way she would be running for governor. i seriously doubt anyone would really be voting for her. to me this part of the story is a little too much to believe.

i did not see the dallas reunion movies, so i have no idea what happened there. i suppose that is where cliff becomes richer than jr?

cliff is another character that i am enjoying. all thru the series i felt sorry for him. i looked at him like the underdog. he was always beat out by jr. and all he was ever trying to do was get his share of the fortune from digger and jock. (did that ever turn out to not be true? digger and jock did sign that paper right? or did that turn out to be false?) anyway, cliff in this series seems to have really learned from all those years loosing to jr. he seems like the more evil of the two.

i like elena, but she is too good for christopher. she should have stuck with john ross.

any other characters to discuss? LOL :wine:

LOL,
They actually did that toward the end of the original series. She played a character called Lee Ann De Le Vega. Apparently, a girl that JR forced himself on back during his college years. She got pregnant. Had an illegal abortion. Ended up marrying some wealthy guy later on and used his money to get back at JR.

I seem to recall that her biggest reason for hating him, though, was that he abortion was botched and she couldn't have any children after that. So, doubt it could be her.

Cool thought, though.

Yeah, a bit too much dirt on her to dig up, I suspect, for her to ever have a political career at that level.

Cliff actually ended up with Ewing Oil before the original series ended (which, they acknowledged that he owned it in the premier). At the end of the TV movie, though, he finds out about Afton and her daughter, Pamela. He ends up giving up the oil business to be with them. He sells Ewing Oil to Sue Ellen and Bobby at the end of the movie. JR ends up as the head of West Star and acts like he planned the whole thing.

cliff is another character that i am enjoying. all thru the series i felt sorry for him. i looked at him like the underdog. he was always beat out by jr. and all he was ever trying to do was get his share of the fortune from digger and jock. No, it wasn't true. I can't remember the exact details of it. But, during the original run of Dallas they actually did a couple part mini-series called Dallas: The Early Years where it tells the origins of that whole thing

No, Jock never cheated him but Digger never believed it.

Because of all of that, it was hard, after a while, to really feel sorry for Cliff. He ended up becoming the same as JR... somebody who never wanted to be the bad guy but used his need to please his father (or his father's memory) to justify becoming one.

i like elena, but she is too good for christopher. she should have stuck with john ross.

I think she's too good for both of them, truthfully, lol.

any other characters to discuss? LOL :wine:

Just wondering if the guy who plays Ann's ex-husband EVER plays a good guy? I guess his character on Stargate Atlantis is about as close as he gets. And he was a jerk even then.

well that explains that then. after bobby's dream season, i sort of stopped watching it. caught bits and pieces here and there. i do remember something about jr taking over west star.
