Memory foam mattresses use body heat to conform to your body.
If the ambient temp gets low [e.g 40s=50s] the foam hardens and
it draws body heat from you making you feel cold no matter how
many blankets you have on.
This is based on my experience during an ice storm power outage.
They are nice with the warmer ambient temps though.
