With out a doubt, the most important part of the trailer. If you want your wife to go camping with you, this is a must.

And there it is, a full Queen size bed of 4" 2.8 density foam mattress of pure sleeping bliss. This is where all the magic will be happening!

This is the fold up bench that completes the bed. Barely hangs into the door opening. Folds down when not in use.

Ceiling shot. Still need to do edge and crown moldings and install the trim rings I am having made for the down lights.

At least it is to the point that I can start using it. Sold my FWC.

Jeff,

I agree with all of the above - incredible work! Your CT conversion looks fantastic!

May I ask a question or two about your bed. Did you buy the hardware for the flip and roll or did you "re-engineer" the hardware from a pre-made sofa? On the seatbench that becomes the middle bed mattress, is it plywood only or is there some additional framing?

Thank you and congratulations again on a fine conversion,
Tom

Re: Jeff's Cargo conversion

The fold and tumble hinges are available on the internet, but the set I used came out of my Four Wheel Camper. I had converted it to a dinette eliminating the couch/bed. At first I built a steel frame, but later went to a piece of 3/8" plywood to save weight. The back of the sofa actually rests on both the seat bottom and the small bench seat you see on the left so there was no need for any structure.
Please let me know if this does not make sense or it didn't answer your question.

Hi Jeff

Nice build .... MOSTLY .... I love the 63Q ARB cooler and the diamond plate :D :D
since I am using those also   - Maybe I can come for a visit as I have a friend that lives in Hellendale
or if you get to San Jose Ca i'm close to SJSU , we Calif guys gotta stick together
(( all those former CA guys think we are going broke - I'll believe that when we can no longer pay those fat $250k GOV pensions ))

How come it looks like you only have 1/2 of the rear door - is it a by folding rear door ?
What happened to all the pictures on the first 3 pages ??

The door is my creation. The single door was too flimsy, so I cut it in half, made new internal frames and Viola! a bi fold.
The picture above shows the first active leaf pinned back onto one of the side steps. Turned out rock solid for cooking.

My ARB s only a 50. Has to be the best money you can spend. I am looking for a second to put in the back seat of the truck.
I am up at UCSC all the time. My Son is a Electrical Engineering major in his last year.

I must have changed the folder location on the early pictures. Shouldn't edit pictures when you have been drinking late at night!

Thanks for all the great compliments.

Jeff
