Hello from the piney woods of East Texas. Been lurking for a while, and now I'm ready to start my conversion.
2007 haul mark 24` . We got a great deal on the trailer. And I've acquired a donor camper for rooftop AC, furnace, water heater, and a few other items. We plan to have basic "kitchen area" in the front. And a shower at one side. Probably use a porta potty in the shower area, to avoid having a black water tank. Just install a gray tank for the kitchen sink and shower. Then save as much room as possible for the toys. Road king, Kawasaki mule, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, etc. More to come as we start our build. Thanks for all the good ideas I've garnered from this forum thus far.

Welcome, DTCooper! That's a nice-looking trailer you have there! Should be plenty of room for what you want to do. The donor camper idea is smart, and there are probably other odds and ends from it that can be re-purposed besides the appliances. There are tons of great ideas on this forum

Are you planning to insulate? With a 24' trailer, that will take a little time, but would be well worth it. We have a 7x18, and have been working at it for a few weeks (evenings and some weekends). There is still more to go, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel now, and have the measuring and cutting down to a good routine. We're going the porta-potty route as well, probably no grey tank either, just a "Y" from sink and shower drain down to a bucket below. Less plumbing means less maintenance and fewer chances for leaks.

Well I wish you good luck on the trailer. Its a big task but lots of fun if you go about it right and take your time so you don't have as many redoes I just got mine done yesterday and yes I know I'll have to do last up date of photos today well if you need anything just ask somebody has probably already tried it and can tell you how to get it done Can't wait to see all this build and as you know we love pics we just don't like posting our on see you down the camping trail Oh ya go to a few gatherings and meet the nicest people in the world and you can get to see some convesins first hand

definitely going to insulate.. Right now I'm removing all the paneling. I have to replace one piece of the "skin" that got wrinkled over by the walk in door on the right side.
No structural damage, just the piece of aluminum. I found a place out here in Tyler that has the skin and rub rail material in stock.. So that's job # 1.. Then I'll get it insulated.

As far as bunks, we'll probably do the e-trac route in the back of the trailer. That way the bunks can be removed as necessary. Also have one of the metal futons (lightweight), that can be used as a couch, as well as another sleeping place..

Please take and post plenty of pictures - especially of the water tanks installation. Sooner or later I'm going to get started on my 7 X 16 and I'd like to have a shower and toilet up in the front but I really don't have a clue where to start....

Got the frames built, to weld into the roof for Air ConditionerS (yep, that's S as in plural, we're putting 2 units in). One unit will be wired into the panel which will be fed by the 30 amp RV cord.. The other one, is wired to a flanged inlet in the floor. My thinking is, plugging into the standard RV outlet at parks, generator, etc., will power the front unit. Then If there's an additional receptacle available on the pedestal (or generator), I can plug a standard extension cord into the flanged inlet and have the other AC running too..
I know the one frame looks a little crooked.. Just the angle of the camera phone when I took the pic.. I can assure you they're square.

We then replaced the one piece of damaged skin on the trailer..

I ran the wiring for the rooftop ACs, and added 2 receptacles in each wall. As well as an outside receptacle on the exterior curb side near the back. All wiring was run in the "trough" area up at the top of the walls.

Then as can be seen in one pic above; we started installing the insulation.. That's a boring tedious process.. 1" Foil Backed foam on the ceiling, and 3/4" blue in the walls.. foil taped all joints. Then added furring strips on the ceiling. It started raining (more like flooding), so we closed up shop early yesterday, before finishing the wall insulation. I'll get some pics of it this evening.
