Route 66 Vintage Truck Convoy Begins Sept 6th 2012

The American Truck Historical Society is going to have a Route 66 convoy From Morris Illinois to California You can Google Route 66 truck convoy for all the details. I am in Illinois and hope to see the start of it all. Wish I had the time to make the trip I would confirm any updates with the web site if you plan to attend. They will be having a truck show each night after a days drive. If you like old trucks like I do you may live someplace along the route I suspect a few old cars will join in here and there. Off topic for sure but might be a fun night out. Bill

Hey Bill that sounds interesting, I'll check out the link. How have you been? We are hoping you can make a gathering this year so we can catch up.

We are all ok, I just have not had much time to camp just to camp so to speak. I camped for 4 days at the Sycamore Il Steam show on the grounds and have camped at the local fishing club that I am a member of. I do most of my camping in the spring and fall, I do not have air and it has been the hottest summer since 1988. I always try to camp out on columbus day weekend since my youngest son on off from school and I take off to make it a 3 day adventure. The weather is usually still good around here. The June event was down in central Il and a bit too far to me for a short weekend trip. I hope Doug and all the gang are doing ok. I plan to be off work and head down to Morris for the start of the convoy event. Good excuse to have breakfast at a truck stop. I will have to check what Doug has planned for the fall. If it is Columbus day weekend I could make that. Bill
