Does anyone have the Kit and/or Benroy profiles layouts

Does anyone have the Kit and/or Benroy profiles in layouts measurements I know Grant can provide full size tracings. That is a great resource for anyone wanting to build these teardrops. Also I can get the generic Benroy measurements from the design resources link above.

I am only wanting to recreate the original profiles in SketchUp, but have been unable to locate any layout measurements on either of these very common and classic teardrops.

I'll be removing the skin from my 47 KIT in a couple of days to make templates. I was planning to take measurements for my future reference though I don't know how to import to SketchUp.

Are you just looking for the side profile height, width and curve radius plus the door placement? If so I think I can just get a straight-on photo and add that data. Does the format and size matter to you: .pdf, .jpeg, .bitmap ?

Mine is fenderless but the outline in the paint is still present and enough of the paint on the front, roof and hatch to provide those measurements also. The blue lightning bolt and lettering are not original.

It is not on the original frame nor is the original hinge present but I can approximate the location from the screw holes.

All I really care about is the outside profile. The radius of the front and back. Looking at the picture it may be hard to determine the exact radius though. A better way, although a lot more time consuming would be to plot a 2" by 2" grid on the alluminum and then get measurements of that. Anything you can give me would be great.

I think you're going to find that the profiles are either ellipses or splines. (No Radii here!)

Your best bet, if you have a photo like the one above, is to bring in the photo into your CAD program, and trace a spline or ellipse as required.

A couple programs that would do that are TurboCAD or CorelDraw. Maybe even your Sketchup program??? http://capolight.wordpress.com/2010/07/ ... l-objects/

I have exact profile templates cut out of ply that I use when cutting new sides and aluminum. I can trace it onto heavy paper if you want it ( may have to tape a couple pieces of paper together to getting big enough)

I was only wanting them to put on a profile compilation that I am doing in Sketchup. I have created most of them now, but I can not find any layout measurements of the Kit or Benroy profiles.

Did someone in A Benroy rebuild thread post side pictures of their Benroy with measurement of the paint
scheme. That might be a help. If you knew the distance between two strips of paint you might be able to
make a full grid.

In my Cad program I just import in a good photo and scale a shape to it. But without one true measurement
it is just eyeballing it.
