It seems as though there are natural hazards most everywhere that people might chose to live.
When I was younger in SOCAL it was earthquakes. Here on the northeast coast we have hurricanes (tho less frequently than south and gulf) and blizzards. Occasionally a rogue tornado hits CT that pales in comparison to those in the heartland. The heartland has real tornadoes and the Miss. valley has annual flooding. Mud slides and wild fires. Homes sliding off hillsides and being washed away by the oceans. There are areas with volcanoes, and on and on and on.
The bottom line is that home is where you live and where your heart is. Let us not cast aspersions, glass houses and all that rot.
