I remember that. And that is not the only time I have woke up to snow.

But not like the Shivery they have back east

I finished my cast iron burner today. Keep in mind my stuff looks way better on the internet. I think it came out pretty cool for a rusty old piece of junk.

Now I have a question for the Coleman Grues. That stove I just posted has a pipe bomb tank with a wing nut gas cap. The gasket in the cap is hard but it is still working. It appears that it is a different size than the regular gas cap gasket. It also appears that maybe the regular replacement gasket might work. I dont want to burn out the old one if I cannot replace it. Thoughts?

Nice stove.

That is not a gasket but a lead ring. I have seen some for sale someplace in the past few weeks. can't remember where.

Kirk....I haven't reseated a lead gasket yet. You could put a small piece of carbon paper over the filler neck, install the cap and crank it down to see if it shows just how bad it's not seating, and then do some tending to it....or you could do what I did....go to the hardware store and pick up an O ring. I have a couple fixed like that. Glad to see you going through some of those old ones....and I see you are also a VHT grate painter....the stove looks good! Doug

There is nothing wrong with it. It seals and works. I just thought it was hard rubber so I was going fix it. Its all good thanks for the input.

Sometimes those gaskets can get corroded. Hit it with some steel wool or a stainless brush. Just an idea. Doug

There was a teardropper named Kirk,

I so almost came home with another lantern today. A hardly used dual mantel with '59 stamped in the fount and it was full of fuel for $22.00. It was in a local antique shop and I was killing time before going to the dentist. Really looking for cast iron or a waffle dogger. Might go back for one of the skillets they had there.

59. Full of fuel. Money in your pocket. You know you have spent more for less. Just do it. You are in the club now. Soon you will be in the gang. The Coleman is calling. If it makes u happy then do it!
