For a td it would be ok but just didn't trust the set up for a bathroom scale for the heavier ct.

trouble is most bathroom scales don't go high enough to weigh a big trailer.
there is a way you can use two scales with a board between them to read higher weights
but for a TD most would be just fine.

Probably wouldn't spend the cash right now, but I tow with small cars and it is much more important to balance the weight properly to assure safe towing. I might though just to have and share with other tear-droppers at gatherings. If it helped just one of us find a potential problem it would be well worth the cost.

ps. This company makes some really good and accurate tools so I am confidant that they make a quality scale.

I have a Sherline 1000# scale, wonderful tool. If I had it to do over I would get the 2000# scale. I have pegged the 1000# a few times with heavier tandem trailers. A member on the other forum comented that on a tandem axle trailer tongue weight increased if the tongue was raised above level. My theory is above level the weight is shifted to the rear axle moving the fulcrum back the distance between the axle center lines. Tongue angle is important because it affects the toe in-toe out of the axle. The sherline web site has an excellent trailer towing guide.
