My AC in the house took a crap Wednesday night...thought it was the thermostat and replaced it...but that wasn't it. So after 4 days of sweating my tuchis off (tuchis is Yiddish for ass), a real man finally came today and fixed it. (Yes, he was CUBAN!!! And actually spoke some ENGLISH!!!)

The unit is only a few years old, and it was just a stupid, inexpensive starter thingy--and he fixed that thingy in like 20 minutes. However, because I refuse to sweat and smell badly even more than usual, yesterday morning, I went out and bought a 6000-btu window-shaker for the living room.

Now, exactly what the hell am I going to do with this window-shaker? Where can I possibly PUT it? How can I make sure it doesn't go to WASTE!?

And no--my wife was no idea why I was in such a rush to buy it, and no idea that I intend to build another Tear. (Keeping secrets from your wife can be FUN!!!) In fact, she was so pissed that I bought it ($159) that she slept in the bedroom last night and sweated her privates off just to spite me! I felt absolutely TERRIBLE waking up in the living room this morning to 72 degrees, and passing through the bedroom to use the toilet, and the 95 degree temps in THOSE rooms.

Yeah--she really got MY goat, huh!?

Ironically, this same exact thing happened after I completed The Crab, and I gave the AC to a friend of Woody, who lives near me. Is he still around here?

Gonna check out Roly's 4 by 6 and other galleries now to get my mind going about which plans to follow.
Here we go again!

Hi, Greg! Hope all is well with you! Glad to be back!

Right now, I'm just itching to get a hold of a profile I like, so I can buy the side ply and get started on cutting that.

I'm going to build the Tear in conjunction with painting my truck. I have an old Sidekick with a 2" lift, and I'm going to do it myself using Herculiner, the stuff they use for truck beds. 99% of the work is in the prep--heavy sanding--so I'll be doing one quarter panel at a time. (Actually, first I'm doing the front and rear bumpers in black, and then the body in white.)

We're still in rainy season down here, but that will be over in a few weeks. I'll then be able to start the day's work in the morning and not worry about it getting poured on by afternoon. (No garage!)

I'm really excited about this build, because I'm going to keep it so simple. After The Crab, I know what I need and want and what I DON'T need and want. And in this case, it makes for a much easier build.

Thinking that maybe, just maybe, it will be The Clam. Aluminum skin though.

There's something really screwed up with the posting here.

I keep getting Internal Server Error Alert messages, but my posts still appear when I hit the back arrow and refresh. Several times, my posts appeared more than once because I "submitted" again after getting the error window, so I had to edit one of the posts to delete them.

Does anyone else have this problem posting? It's happening on like 75% of my posts.
