Okay, so yesterday I put down the deposit on my new woodie teardrop. I am beyond excited. Of course it won't be ready until October, but still plenty of weekend camping trips to take after that. I live in the Reno, NV area, so the mountains are just a hop, skip and a jump away. Then winter desert camping, woo hoo! I looked through the galley was was really happy to see some jeeps pulling teardrops. I am fed up with sleeping in a tent on the ground, but can't tow too much with my little gutless jeep (which I totally love). I had stopped to speak with a guy at the California coast a couple of weekends ago. He had his teardrop and I asked him how he liked it. I told him about the one I was getting and he told me not to get wood, so I was pretty happy to see all the pics of wooden teardrops. I will be posting pics when the construction starts. My trailer is 4 x 8, hickory exterior and a pretty basic galley. I have always been a primitive type of camper, so no bells and whistles for me. I just have to come up with a catchy name for it once it is done. Hoping to attend the Redwoods meeting next year. I also have a passion for world travel, so I won't be around for the big event at Shasta in May, hopefully I will be in Nepal at that time. I am so happy to have found this group!!
