CT Trailer Decal Removal

I am wanting to remove the factory/dealer decals from the exterior of my CT and looking for the best/easiest solution. Many people on the web recommend Goo Gone. Does anyone here have any personal experience with this or a similar product that they used on their CT? Keep in mind that I am in Canada and there are many products that are not available to us north of the US border.

good strong hair dryer... Heat gun is better option, as running a hair dryer for a long time will burn it up..
Then use goo gone to remove any residue..

The stickers will come off fairly easy with a heat gun, or a hair dryer. I took off the landscaping decals on a 20' trailer with a heat gun. Both sides, one day. It still took a while, but it was MUCH easier than using chemicals, which I tried on 3 separate occasions prior to the heat gun. One tip that I didn't get to try was using a block of wood with the heat. The heat softens the paint, and I was using a metal scraper, which left gouges that needed repair. Someone on here said wood doesn't do that, ymmv.

On the Goo Gone, once the decals were gone on mine, I used Goo Gone, and took the dang paint with it. Maybe my paint wasn't on properly, IDK. Goo Gone, Goof Off, and Xylene are things I tried prior to the heat gun, and all removed the paint too.

Take your time with the heat gun, it works, and does a clean job once you get the hang of it. Don't get it too hot or you'll damage the paint.

You can get an adhesive remover from sign supply shops. It is designed to remove vinyl lettering and other stickers. I don't know how different it is from WD40 or goo gone but I believe it is designed to be used on automotive finishes and not remove the paints finish.

I found this stuff and was told about it from others and it was at ACE HARDWARE and not sure if those are in other states then Wisconsin but it is citrus base and you spray it on and it will loosen the adhesive from the decals and come off with ease and they make plastic razor blades that are plastic and will not scratch the paint and works like a charm I used that to remove decals and these stickers were hard due to garage number stickers that were on for a long time and when I sprayed them on a vehicle I let it sit for a while and came back and came off nice and then sprayed it afterwards the paint of the van and it took any adhesive that was on there yet took it right off with a wipe of the rag.

But dont think it will be a couple of mins or a hour plan on spending some time on this because they are made to stay on there and not come off in outside weather or car washes and stick during winter months and hot months so plan a day of this and good luck.

Or take it to a place who does decals and just pay the money to have them removed and let them worry about it and they all have there own tricks of the trades and I am sure I wouldnt want to see most of them how they removed them. I am sure heat guns and some other devices are used which I would be scared to see done.

WD-40 works good, also a hairdryer does the trick!
