"Janet" terminal?!? We don't have a "Janet" terminal. Why would you say anything about a "Janet" terminal? You may want to check you phone for bugs. For those who don't know, that's where the airplanes don't fly to Area 51 that doesn't exist.

A couple of years ago National Geographic did a cover story on Vegas. Right on the cover was one of the Janet 737 jets taking off with the Luxor in the background. You won't convince me that the folks at NG didn't realize the significance of that specific aircraft. I had the opportunity to chat with one of the pilots once. He was fun to talk with but didn't share any secrets.

I've lived here since 1980 and have known a lot of folks who have worked up at the test site through the years. More than a few interesting stories. Not so much any more, but in the 80's things were hopping up there.

I saw an Area 51 documentary on Discovery channel where they talked about those flights. I've been to Vegas several times so I checked my pictures, and wadda ya know, I had a picture of Janet.

Here is an interesting website that explains it better, they also have better pics.

Did you notice in the map of that site that there is a "North Tear Drop Holding Pad" and a "South Tear Drop Holding Pad". Hmmm, what aren't some of you Las Vegas types telling us?

Hey, I recogize that terminal. I recoginze the monitors too. I spend way too much time in that airport.

We do tend to get a lot of celebs though there. If you want to see even more, hang out at the charter terminal where they park all the private jets.

Hope you had a great time while you were here.

Joanne,
We had a great time there. My sister got married, we visited the Carol Shelby museum, drove to Mt Charlston and played in the snow, and lost lots of money. We rented a 300c (very nice ride), and the room at TI was awsome it was a good time.

P.S. That was gate C12.
