New Here in Missouri

My adult daughter encouraged my interest in TD's. She and I may be building one for her use. I am a amateur woodworker and hope not to get in over our heads. Right now I am just trying figure out what are the first things first.

Take a little bit of time to read through some of the build journals. The ones with loads of picture are great
timeline showing steps other took while building their Teardrop.

GL and ask question if needed. ( you might find more people reading and answering questions if you start
a Build Journal ior your build in that area. )

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Missourian. You'll find a lot of info and get lots of help with your build on this forum. One thing about teardropers is they love to talk teardrop. Which part of MO are you from? Good luck with the build and hope to see you out camping soon.

Thanks for the gracious welcomes, info and pointing out the build journals. I am toying with the idea of an ultra light ish though the trailer frame/axle has me perplexed.

Thanks again,

Bob

You could do like Tom and build the trailer and then slip the frame under. go simple like a harbor freight or northern tool trailer frames. I am no expert on axles so went with a conventional axle. have no clue about torsion so ask someone that knows more than me.
Well alot of things come into play with what type of trailer you want to build. What are you pulling it with. .
How wide how long how tall. What profile.
How many to sleep in it. From one upto 6 or more.
What materials to build out of.
Number of doors. 2 for sure.
What type of roof vent or other ventilation
Electrical 120 volts 12volts solar battery I recommend progressive dynamics jmo
Water tank or jugs or nothing
Cooler storage
Counter space or cabinets in galley
Open concept on teh interior, or cabinets.
I have no clue how a screwdriver works or master cabinet maker
What camping are u planning. Fair weather only or we take this baby out on the ice and fish from the doors.
Pavement only, a little offroad, RUBICON here we come!
The info is here for sure and if its not ask away and a lot of ways to skin a trailer
Also apply rule number 10 keep it about the trailers
Measure twice cut once and pay attention to where your and others body parts are
"All the success on the trail can not compensate for having square headlights"

"I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!"
