4’ X 8’ Cargo trailer Too small ... what to do ?

Postby GPW » Fri Sep 28, 2012 7:49 am

Been looking at my little CT in the driveway , although built like a Tank ,1” steel sq. tubing on a HD trailer , all steel covered, it’s just too small for any of my Camper plans ... Would be Great for one person camper. but I need Bigger (2 person , dog and cat)...
Relegated now to just a storage unit for wood ... What a waste ...

Any ideas what I should do with it ??? Built too Stout to modify without some serious metal work ... Conversion , no matter how nice , not practical just for One ... :NC

As much as I hate to sell something or buy for that matter it is easier now that ever with Ebay and craigs list.
I take so long to decide to buy something after I have bought it I will keep it and find a use for it,but some friends I know love to buy and sell.
I am so glad I held off for a year or so on my trailer because I would have bought to small a trailer also,I have a 7x16 and it's ok for me and the dog but sometimes I think I should have bought a 7x18 or 7x20 just a few feet can make a big difference and you will probably get the same gas milage as long as your not going wider?
The other thing is you can sink a small fortune in finishing it out the way you want and then if you try and sell it you will probably take a big hit unless you are lucky and find the right buyer.

The only reason I bought this one was, it was sitting over at a friends house , just going to seed... That and it was built so heck for STOUT , I thought it would be really Safe ... And it is .... just it’s so small ...
Built by somebody’s Dad ... obviously made to Last ... and last ...
Although I’d hate to sell it , it probably would make a good one person camper ... Maybe I should do a “conversion” and just keep it for that singular purpose ... It would be easy to add a roof rack and strap a ‘yak up there to go do some serious Fishing ...
