The Pointy Trailer

Postby stumphugger » Wed Oct 03, 2012 10:10 am

The Little Guy was fine, and then I started going to Bluegrass campouts, which allow less privacy than I like. Also, I needed somewhere where I could play my fiddle and not be heard. I'm a beginner.

I tried and looked at used small, fiberglass trailers. The nice ones sold fast, and the other ones seemed overpriced or not in very good shape. It is impossible to snap up something because I want to go look at them, and I live at least two hours from everything.

I stopped at a dealer and looked at new A Frame trailers. They seemed to fit the bill. So then I kept my eyes open on Craig's List and drove 3 hours to look at a used A frame. I liked it. I bought it.

It has a "bunk bed" in it, that's why there is a window along the bottom. I took out the lower cushions and put a dog bed in it. I sleep on the upper bed. I took it out for a week, and it was really nice to have hot water and a refrigerator with freezer compartment. The heater came in handy too.

I'm sorry, I've gone over to the dark side, I guess.

The only other modification I've made is carving a notch in the end of an axe handle for a lifting tool. I am too short to lift the roof up without it. I also wonder how long the bungee cord will last...

Congrats on the new-to-you A-liner. I looked for a used one last year before I bought the SideKick TTT, and couldn't find anything used. I think they're a great idea. I hope you keep on posting here because you really do have a type of a TTT!!!!

It still qualifies as a ttt. It looks good too.
As a fellow fiddler, I had to give up on bluegrass camp outs. Those guys have too many rules, and want to play too fast :? (In Texas, anyways...)
Give me a good folk music camp out any-day.

Thanks.

I've had it out ten days so far and I'm liking it. It tows well and having water and heat is positively luxurious.
