Nope, originally it was Tuesday in the morning sometime. But after driving up there, I realized it was only an 8 hour drive, so when I got up Monday morning, I drove 45 minutes into Howells, NE..........took two hours to load...........and drove home. I was home by 6 last night. Quick trip, indeed. Needed to be though. I've lots to do to get ready for Beaver's Bend, and also work on the table for the show.

FYI......

I just got off the phone with the campground reservations at Beaver's Bend. They said that as long as there is not an actual fire ban from the Governor's office, we can have campfires. :campfire: Of course, we have to be responsible and not try to duplicate the Burning Man campfire! :rofl2:

got pottie?

Postby backwoodsman » Tue Mar 28, 2006 5:34 pm

I don't know if any of you go camping without the electrical hookups and other "essential" facilities.......but, we go tent camping a lot and my wife would not go without this item. In the middle of the night she does not want to get dressed and untie the tent to walk over to the public restrooms by herself and I am sure not getting up to escort her...

If anyone would like to buy a SaniPottie by Sealand I could deliver it to Beavers Bend. We install them in our boats. I buy them by the pallet load. They are all brand new in the box. $65

If you have an interest let me know and I will bring one for you to look at. There is no obligation to buy.

Just thought I would make the offer. Beats paying shipping cost.

I started packing today. Got a list of foodstores to buy tomorrow. It's not going to be as cold as I'd originally hoped, but at least it won't be hot like Minden.

Hey everyone-

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. My dad seems to be feeling a little better today. (He has an infection around his heart.) At this point, the doc still doesn't know if his chest pains are from this, or if he has another blockage. (He's had several heart attacks, open heart surgery, and more stints than you can count.) There has never been another blood relative male in his family that reached 60 years of age. He is now 71, so we count every day as a blessing. Anyway, thanks so much.

Yup, enough for about 3 or 4 people...........there's just 3 of us, so that'll work. We promise not to eat more than our share. (Yeah, sure.)

After talking it over with my wife, and this is the maden run of our tear, we decided that it would be better to camp this weekend closer to home.. :( We just want to make sure everything is going to work, before we take the tear on a longer trip.. But I'm sure that we will be meeting you all before long... We're going to do a shakedown camp-out at Joe Pool this weekend and I am hopeing that everything will work good...

How am I supposed to concentrate on work with the camping trip nearly here? Should have just left on Monday. I think we are leaving Friday about 9:00am. Planning on taking Highway 59 that borders Arkansas. Hope that route doesn't end up to be an all day drive. If someone has traveled that way, let me know if it is a slow go.

Thanks,
Rick

You're thinking like me ! haha I started thinking about taking off Thursday too just because I'm soooo ready to get outta town! Teardrop or not!!

I'm leaving about 10 friday morning, and going out I-40 east and taking the turnpike down to Antlers, then over to Broken Bow and up to the bend.

It's really cloudy and a little rain here in OKC today and tomorrow but will be sunny by the weekend!!!

GREG -- VAIRMAN ..... Sorry we won't see ya but have a good test run and let's see your masterpiece at another campout soon!!
