Timbren axle-less suspension

These seem like an easy option for a frame build. http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Suspens ... RS545.html Has anyone actually used them?

And I imagine would reduce weight quite a bit as well.

Wouldn't you still have to attach your tongue to this set up similar to Andrew's ultra light chassis? Even if not it would require some really strong wood which might weigh more than the torsion axle used in the ultra light chassis plan.

Kanguru, Thanks for the link. Those units would be usefull for building a really low riding teardrop by designing a chassis where the axles are mounted somewhere above the floor framing. Other than that, I don't see any advantage over a #8 Dexter axle. Alignment is more complicated, they cost more, they are heavier than a Dexter and they require more strength (weight) at the attachment points.

I'm looking at a little garden trailer utility frame and was thinking of swapping out the axles I wonder if this one will work for what I'm considering....Thanks for sharing it I bookmarked it

Hmmm...Dexter is less expensive. I had not checked on that. Plus I understand you can get Dexter with differend drops as well. Hope this will be helpful to someone.

Absolutely! I was not advocating elimination of quality metal frame construction.
