way too early or why am I up?

Postby pete42 » Wed Oct 10, 2012 5:14 am

It seems no matter when I go to bed be it 9pm or 1am I still wake up around 5:30 each morning.
It's not like I have anything important that needs doing or anywhere to go, unless it's the times I
go to the VA hospital but most mornings what ever needs to be done can wait.
my morning consist of the following: breakfast, check investments, check obits, (been losing a lot of friends lately),
shower check what needs to be done for that day like mow lawn, sweep house, laundry, grocery shopping, banking, pay bills check TNTTT ect.
Am I the only fool up this early?
I say fool with the kindest of meanings. :)

I had a morning paper route from 12 to 16 then a newspaper motor route from late teens to early 20's so it is all but engraved in my DNA to get my ass out of bed and make sure that the sun comes up. To this day I start eyeballing the clock at 4:30 AM and lay back down trying to get a few more minutes. Occasionally it works , most times it won't. I will say one thing since poverty hit and I gave up home internet I spend less time in the middle of the night on T&TTT
Growing older but not up !

Amen on the poverty
I never fully understood what they were talking about when they said fixed income,
I'm not starving but I'm not buying a couple of caddies either.

I'm with the rest of you. After a long career of getting up early to go to work, I guess my biological clock just won't change in retirement. Coffee at 5:30, Robin Meade at 6:00 and then read the local paper. Check the obits and if I'm not in there then I know it's going to be a good day.

Never understood you morning people...

A good day starts around 9AM and runs until about 11PM.

Different strokes, I guess!

When I retired the first thing to go was the alarm clock. It's only used on very rare occasions. I now stay up as late as I want to and I sleep as late as I want to.

The digital clock alarm is set for 6:45am... The two dogs jumping on me and licking my face is set for 6:46am. Even on the weekends, their internal clock is very accurate..

I am lark married to an owl. I am always up before 5:30 an fix Nancy her Lazarus grade cup of coffee which she needs to get ready for school.
However, I also know that sleeping too little or too much can be a sign of depression. :NC

It has been my experience that when the doctor's can't figure out why you are in pain that they can't begin to imagine, your problems is that you are depressed. Hell yes! I have found out the hard way that being in constant pain is a less than wonderful experience and can be a bit more than discouraging.

Calling it "depression" solves all of the issues as far as some doctors are concerned.

Cheers,

Gus

Morning is the best part of the day. I tell my friends that the day is half over by the time they get out of bed. Yes, I am up at 5 or near that time. I like it. We get to watch a lot of sunrises that way...if the skies are clear enough. We can get to town and shop before the thundering herds. The roads are not as busy.

We morning people have it good.
