Battery Box tie down

Postby les45 » Sun Oct 14, 2012 4:11 pm

If you have used a common plastic battery box, you know that the strap that comes with it is ugly and cheap looking. I found that an old red striped luggage belt that I had fit perfectly around my battery box so I tried to find a couple of black ones on Ebay. I wanted two because I've got a support that runs down the middle that prevents me from using just one in the center. Anyway, everything on Ebay looked cheap and flimsy so I Googled a little more and found these belts at an online store called Artistic Labels (about $11 each). The monograms were free so I personalized them and their yellow matched my Rustoleum Safety Yellow perfectly. They are very easy to put on and take off, very sturdy, and they look a lot better than the one that came with the battery box.

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

That's a very nice look with your yellow trailer. If those catches are plastic, you may want to keep a close eye on them. The sun could cause deterioration as you are using something in a way that it was not meant for; therefore, those catches may not have built-in UV protection. Still, even if you have to replace them every year or two, they look awfully nice and do the job.
