I know the discussion of wood stoves has came up many times weather it is a cargo conversion, gypsy vardo, tiny house, standy, or some other idea so I have been searching around for some time and think I might of come up with a solution either make your own or order from these guys

You might also check out YouTube for rocket stoves. You can get a lot of heat out of a little fuel and a small package. linky for the lazy

for my particular setup I require a 3 inch chimney I know I could use some of the different pipe adapters but like most the inside of my two trailer designs is quit crucial and very limited in space I also like the idea of being able to pick up sticks and twigs in order to have a fire instead of going out and splitting logs I think it helps with the leave no trace aspect of things. I just wanted to share a link to a new stove that I found as others have commented before on wanting small stoves but those other links are good also thank you for sharing

Would be nice to set one of these up just outside the camper and then have some sort of passive heat exchanger bring the warmed air inside. Obviously the wood stove wouldn't burn all night, but it would at least take the chill off when going to bed. Just fire it up again in the morning.

Well you wouldnt want to heat a trailer with a rocket stove, no chimney and from what Ive experienced with mine and read, they are insulated to direct the heat upwards, the sides get hot but not as hot as a woodstove.

The only problem with a woodstove that is small enough to fit in a TD/TTT is that it will have a real short burn time, maybe a few hours...I sleep soundly lol. Now I was contemplating the idea of some small paper bags with a few self starting charcoal briquettes pre made and if you wake up cold toss it in and light it and it will start burning much faster. I do really like a wood stove and not worrying about runnin out of propane in the middle of the night...hence why i traded away my propane cookstove and now just have the rocket stove.

I'm definitely having a wood stove in mine as I'd like to be able to get away up in the mountains and camp for a week or two...I have a few ideas I want to try out

Vacuum sealer and a pot of boiling water place food in pot when hot remove food eat and use hot water for coffee in my french press and the rest can be used for cleaning the dishes...Just my thought

sure the ammo can is square and this is kinda tube shaped but that shouldn't matter that much should it I like the idea of baking fresh cinnamon buns or some other thing like that in an oven in the morning while I wait for my coffee plus if the weather goes bad then I'll be set for it thanks for sharing that link I think it's cheaper there then on ebay

I am tempted to build as an exercise, a wood powered boiler type heat exchanger system.
The prospect of any combustible materiel inside a confined space is scary. My approach would be to use a heater core or oil cooler core as the exchanger in the wood stove and a heater core inside the trailer with antifreeze as the fluid. You can regulate the burn rate in the stove portion with dampers.

I just put a wood stove in my 10 foot Scottie this last weekend. I built it out of 1/8" steel in highschool to put in my ice shack, I've gone through 5 or 6 shacks since then and the stove was installed in all but one of them. It is about 8" tall 8" wide and 10" long. There are a few problems with having such a small stove. The firebox is so small you have to cut you firewood very small and because the firewood is so small it burns up real quick which means you have to constantly reload it. Also having a stove in such a small space it is very easy to over heat the camper and have it 90 degrees at the ceiling and still cold at the floor.

To solve the over heating problem I have found that if when I first light a fire I let the stove heat up to get the camper warmed up quick then I pile bricks around the stove. The bricks absorb the heat from the stove and prevent the camper from overheating and once they are nice and warm they radiate there heat out and the fire can die way down. Doing it this way makes the camper more comfortable and means I don't have to constantly be adjusting the vents on the stove an feeding it as often.

The weight of the bricks would be a problem if I planned to move the camper several times a week like I do in the summer. But I plan to only use it for deer hunting and then once the lakes freeze over I plan to park it on the ice all winter so the extra weight isn't much of a concern.

Home depot has three inch pipe. I used three inch exhaust pipe from an auto parts store for my home made stove but would get the real deal if I needed through roof fittings.
