Just had a great dog in Boise, Idaho. The place is Stan's. It's in the Vista Village on Vista. Having just had lunch I went to Stan's for the frozen custard my daughter told me about. Never expected what happened next. The very nice lady at the counter took one look as I walked in and recognized that I was a first time visitor. Jolene, by name, Stan's wife by design, and Andrew's mother, by description quickly began telling me what Stan's was all about, the best onion rings in town and fabulous dogs in the finest Buffalo, NY tradition.

I'm just almost, but not quite, talked into eating a second lunch when Stan, himself walks in the front door, also recognizing me as a newbie, and grabs a spoonful of sauce for me to taste.

A dog and a huge batch of what really are Boise's Best onion rings later, stuffed from two lunches, I barely had room to even try the custard. It was great as well.

Check it out if you find yourself in Boise.
