have been looking at oilcloth to make a new tablecloth for camping. Was going to order this afternoon. Just got back from a local farmer who was giving away tomatoes. As we drove up i saw my exact awning fabric on a discarded store window awning in the yard. The fabric was dirty and some seams were pulling apart but worth a try. The owner wanted the metal frame, not the fabric. So i cut it off. There are five pieces each about 5 feet long. It will be great for a table cloth!I. Maybe even enough for a changing room!

Well today I washed the filthy fabric, evened it up, and sewed it into a 50x 100" tablecloth. Cant see the seams or holes unless you look hard. Took two of the full width sections. Almost the right width. could have been maybe a couple more inches on the side drop, but who's complaining? its a camping tablecloth after all. Turned ott damned good. Had a few small tears that i used some iron on repair tape for, and "fray checked" some small holes, but all in all well worth the effort and time. I will need to re water protect, as i had to machine wash it to get it clean, but i do that every year to my awning and cooler covers anyway. Based on current cheapest sunbrella fabric on the internet, since i used 3 yards, i save myself @ $75 and got a mighty fine high end tablecloth that should last for many years for 2 hrs work! And i still have another 3 yards of fabric after i go cut the rest off the other awning. Now to decide what to do with the rest. Sidewalls for the side awning or one back wall for our storm protection area. ?

Will fit a six to eight foot table. And ye, those are Randy' s feet. He is always the helpful husband.

Yup, definably better to be lucky than good.
