I never noticed Illegals in Western Washington until this past summer. I guess all the good construction & service jobs in California are already taken so they are moving north. I don't have an issue with legal immigration it's just not fair that those who have to wait to be legal get beaten to the jobs by illegals. Our ancestors were screened for criminal records etc but who knows what an illegal is.

If our ancestors didn't have TUBERCOLISIS, they were let in. There wasn't any screening for ANYTHING back then.

Aside from the terrorist dangers, which are real, this whole immigration "crisis" is a lot to do about nothing:

Nothing is different today than it was 50 years ago. It's just that when people start hearing people speaking Spanish in their Anglo neighborhoods, it bothers them.

99% of Mexican "illegals" work their butts off and don't commit any crimes.
Here we go again!

I only fly my flag on holidays. It is a cheapy one that I got free for my Dish Network subscription. It probably wouldn't last long if I left it outside. Ironically enough, the tag says "Made in China".

Ira, My step grandfather & his wife immigrated from Italy around 1910. They were stranded at sea for a long time until there boat was rescued. They were greeted with predeceases but were granted acceptance to this country. My grandfathers wish was to become a United States citizen as he was proud to be here. Because of his accent and understanding of the English language the tester would not grant him his citizenship papers and he died that way many years later. My Mom came from Canada & her parents from england the legal way. I do not support someone to jump our borders to gain entrance to the USA period, just like I don't support the growing trend of running a red light. Neither one is acceptable to me. Danny

You should live in California. It's getting real bad.

Have a good day.

Postby kirtsjc » Wed Mar 29, 2006 7:05 pm

Possible? Being the brat of an FBI agent, I never lived in one city for more than 2 years, and in many cities multiple times...

:?

Then again, East Coast came up the most on the "Yankee" type questions, and I NEVER lived on the East Coast. Dad's assignments had us all along the I-75 route (rout?) from Knoxville to the Soo....
Except for four times living in Columbus, Ohio.

Yeph, guess I'm a mongrel!!!

(Just wait till you all (Ya'll?) hear me talk - one sentence has me talking Bronx, and another Boston (HawVARD and Pahk your cah?), and others, well, people think it is Urdu or some'tim....)

Then, there was the summer I was the only white boy in a country club kitchen where every black in there was a relative somehow.... (I hear dat!)

Well, according to my dad (back home in MN), if you're south of the MN/IA border, you're too damn far south..so perhaps the area of Indiana you are in is the southern portion of the state?

Jolene, I actually live in Northern Indiana, but I really like southern Indiana a lot better. My favorite camp ground is on the Ohio River at Madison IN.
I think some people cal it "INDYUCKY" or something like that. Image
