THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!!
Hi Everyone!!
Go Giants!! Go Niners!!
The A’s had and incredible season!! The Raiders…well…
I got final update from Angie owner of the Treasure Island Flea Market

.
All sounds great David,
Should be alot of fun for all. I actually cleared that you will be spending the night (all of the owner's of the teardrops) for security purposes and it was approved so now we are not in danger of getting our landlords upset and you do not feel like you have to sneak around. It is a WIN WIN!
Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend.
My Best,
Angie
We will meet at the Treasure Island Pan American Building Parking Lot at 7:30 am. Before we move over to our spot at The Treasure Island Flea Market. I think we should move over in pairs of two at a time. The first two to back in help each other park and detach from tow vehicle, Park tow vehicles in parking lots. Once those two are set, then call the next two in and repeat the first step. This way we will not bottle neck up in the parking lot and get in the way of the other vendors moving in and setting up.
I think it would be best to disengage the teardrop on the asphalt and hand walk the teardop into place with each other’s help then trying to back in with vehicles and mucking up the lawns with the trucks or cars.
If you look at the pictures of the Naked lady or stop looking at them you will see two paved areas that we can use to access the green area. I think we just line them up in a single row about 15 feet apart. Somewhat like at a car show. Once everyone is parked and tow vehicles moved to the parking lot we can then set up or open up our tear drops with galleys facing to the naked lady. Right Now I have a total of 8 teardrops. Two Benroys, Two Lingemans(My Trailer), a woody, and ???. I know one is a vintage that I saw up from Oregon with a portal window. We can group together by style if you want or randomly alternate.
THINGS TOO REMEMBER:
1. $15 dollar for toll on the Bay Bridge because of the extra axle!!
2. Far left lane for the Yerba Buena /Treasure Island exit right before the tunnel and the curve!! Soon as you get out of the toll booth start moving over to your left lane. The opposite applies if coming from the city, I am pretty sure the exit is on the left side as well.
3. The exits loops over down into Treasure Island with the Marina on the left and the first Art Deco Building being the old Pan Am Clipper Terminal. This where we will initially meet.
4. Be there between 7:30 am and 8 am. Try and not show up at noon!! We want to be respectful to Angie and her husband so we can do this again next year!!
5. I suggest bringing a quick setup canopy /tarp for shade, you never know it may be sunny, misty, rainy…so afford yourself some protection. Camp chairs a must for the duration.
6. We are not BBQing or cooking outdoor meals or cooking turkeys in your propane deep fryers. There will plenty of food trucks to feed your appetites…so bring some cash for that and for the Flea Market. Bring some cash is what I am saying. You may want to bring a breakfast item, bear claws or something, but they will have that as well if you chose. There will be ATMS there as well.
7. Booze..I highly recommend your bring a favorite to enjoy and keep you warm in the evening, sharing is highly recommended!! There are wineries that you can also purchase a bottle or two from that will be at the flea market. They are very good and reasonable.
8. Assume that it will be cold in the evening and prepare accordingly. No campfires or portable heaters please.
9. Somebody bring a radio so we can listen to the games baseball/football!! Why should we go without.
10. Bring smiles and willing to show off your teardrop and answer questions to the public about your pride and joy. Remember this is a Meet & Greet for not only us but the Public.
11. I may have a contest for the public to name their favorite teardop of the M&G, with an award accordingly. Each teardrop with a number and voting box to be decided at the end.
12. We all leave end of Flea Market around 4 pm on Sunday. Exit out the same way we came in and of course police our areas.
13. There will be plenty of Porta Potties, Hand Washing Stations, Garbage cans and on premise security and police.
14. Treasure Island is actually a small community and consist of a mix of small business and low income housing. This is not a state park nor a KOA or someone favorite wilderness spot. Assume that you are not at home, be alert and safe!! Help watch your brothers teardrop when they need to take a break or go have a look at the flea market or grab some food. I know this sounds jaded but use the buddy system. We know that anything at anytime can be stolen..but you all know that because you are all Teardroppers!!
15. I think we should pass the hat at the end and maybe make a small donation to Angie and her husband for the privilege of camping over nite on Treasure Island. I will get a nice card that we can all sign in appreciation and then give it to her on Sunday. I think if we do this right it could be annual event and maybe add another nite and more trailers??
16. If you have questions call me directly on my cell phone which I will pm each one of you after this post.
17. Questions??? Did I miss anything??
If I think of anything else I will post here and try and answer questions.
