Members of the Kitkatla Nation in Prince Rupert have been told to get to higher ground as a tsunami could be heading their way. They are also telling us the water level at Prince Rupert has dropped three feet.

Didn't feel anything here.

It's just the earth's growing pains. Fingers crossed, you should be okay; but, being a camper, you're probably prepared for anything.

My GF is going nuts, her daughter was 70 klicks from the epi-center on an island. No communication as of yet.

I'm not scared out of my wits about it, but she is. Her daughter was a recreational leader at camps, first aid, has some survival skills in the woods, strong and athletic. Even though she is a drama queen, I have confidence in her. She's probably kicked back on a log on the highest point with a beer in hand! Hope so anyway! :worship:

:D Update, the girl friend she is staying with just posted on her FB page, shaken but all is well! I thought so....

3.8 is considered a "baby quake" here in So. Cal. I'm in Simi Valley (adjacent to the San Fernando Valley) and we didn't notice a thing.

I've experienced two big ones. The 1971 and the 1994 earthquakes. I was only a few miles from the epicenters of both. Those two were something to write home about!

Cheers,

Gus

All clear! It was 7.7 at Queens Island, she said they first got under a table and it was getting stronger in seconds, then ran outside, SOP. Seems they are having after shocks about twenty minutes apart, some fairly strong, so guess it's not over yet!

A 7.7 qualifies as a real earthquake in my book.

I did feel the Nisqually earthquake in 2001. It was a 6.8
